Designers’ Fine Press Paper Layers

  • Paper Layering Overview
  • Reveal Mount Layers
  • Flush Mount Layers
  • The papers from Designers’ Fine Press are layerable; they can be stacked and mounted together to change the overall feel of an invitation.
While the base cardstocks range from 100# to 130# in most cases (already nice weights for 1ply cards), additional thickness may be achieved by combining them in layers.
To see the base weights for all the papers in our Paper Palette, please view the DFP Paper Weight Guide for more details

  • Reveal Mount Layers form steps of reveal, allowing different layers of color to show and shine.  The depth of the reveal can be just about any reasonable measurement from 1/16” and up, allowing you to control how much of a “border” is showing on each layer.

  • Flush Mount Layers are cards of the exact same size layered together to achieve additional thickness. Often this embellishment is used in combination with edge painting/foiling or edge beveling to acccentuate the drama of the angled cut (a bevel appears deeper on a thicker card).  Another use for Flush Mount Layers is to introduce a pop of color on the back of a card.
