This handcrafted "lithophane"; a thin translucent porcelain night light, is made using a lost art from the 1800's. When lit from behind, the light shining through the different thicknesses of the carving causes a highly detailed image to appear in front, almost magically. This beautiful Fairy is from an original image by David Delamare. The subtle beauty of his work, the shading, the composition, everything about his art makes them so perfect for their pieces. This mirthful sprite, perched playfully on a branch, is holding a fallen star under a moonlit sky. She is their best selling Fairy design. This version has been hand colored from the reverse side for color to show through the dimensional porcelain.
