| About Pearl Grant
Richmans |
Pearl Grant Richmans is a family
owned and operated department store that has served
the Capital District for over
50 years, spanning three generations of family. One of
the few remaining original tenants of Stuyvesant
Plaza, Pearl Grant Richmans continues to provide
unique gifts and cards with unmatched service.
In 1959 Jerome and Rose Richman opened the original
Richmans, just a few doors down from our present
location in Stuyvesant Plaza. When Pearl Grant decided
to sell her store in 1966, Jerome and Rose bought it
and added on the name Richmans to become Pearl Grant
Richmans. Barry Richman, their son and present owner,
grew up in the store, working through his youth. After
college, Barry and his wife Nancy joined the family
business. Today, they are very proud to have their son
Michael and his wife Molly actively involved in the
day-to-day operations of the store.
The store has grown and changed through the years. In
fact, since Barry, Nancy, Michael and Molly are all
buyers for the store it creates a unique diversity to
our products and style. Our eclectic mix encompasses
everything from chocolates to china and includes fine
crystal, dinnerware, gourmet food, American-made hand
crafts, woman’s accessories (handbags, scarves,
clothing and jewelry) and much more. We are known in
the area for our tremendous selection of upscale paper
products, unique cards and custom stationery/ wedding
invitations. Our knowledgeable staff is always on-hand
to answer questions on product and help you with your
purchases. As always, gift wrapping is provided by our
staff at no extra charge. Please come in and explore,
you are sure to find that unique gift you’re looking
for, plus a little something for yourself.
